Tortoise humidity
Posted: 12/03/2015 by absh594

Hi all. My tortoises skin has gotten very dry this winter. My tortoise requires 70% humidity but i'm struggling to maintain this as she lives in a tortoise table home. Any tips or good humidifiers? I'm thinking of buying a Vicks warm humidifier but i'm also worried about the mould this could cause.  Many thanks

Hello,

Which species is it ?
In most cases the skin should be dry.

Regards,
Tom

ps In the absence of a reply - I'm not sure why you want 70% humidity, Highfield 1996 recommends "a moderately dry environment".
