Hello,
Could you please advise me if  it is safe to use untreated pine timber wood to build new  tortoise table.
Thank you.

Hello Agnieszka,

Yes it will be safe.

Be careful not to buy from a pet trader of any sort. There is a list of breeders in the "Buying a Tortoise….." box.

Watch out for online pretend breeders as well. Also the term "centre" usually means pet dealer, not a place of excellence.

Regards,
Tom

Thank you for your precious advise Tom. It gives me a piece of mind to know that pine is safe for the precious tortoise.

I am building the table for the College female horsefield  tortoise to improve her quality of life.

Big thank you for the guidance about purchasing this beautiful animals. Personally I am very much against exotic pet trade and I would only rescue a tortoise and certainly never pay for one. Sorry for my bad English.

Best wishes

Agnieszka
