Hello I'm looking for a tortoise for my son, I have been told horsefield tortoise would be a good choice as a first time owner. I'm an animal lover of all kinds and already have 2 dogs 2 cats and a stable yard holding 30 horses. I am fully aware of the commitment to owning an animal/pet of any size big or small. If anyone could give me advice on rehoming from a rescue tortoise or have a tortoise they are unable to care for more pls pls contacting me 07864665830 . Krissy. Kent

Hello,
Click the box on the left titled TPG.....Rehoming / Rescue.
A lot of Horsfields need re-homing. They are 'all' wild caught
& therefore cheap. They are sold by 'pretend breeders' & other pet dealers, often as impulse buys.
I trust that your son understands that torts are best observed, with minimal handling.
Regards
Tom

Some of the photos are missing, but we hope to add these in the next day or two.

If you feel you are able to offer a tortoise a suitable home, please follow this link where contact details and an explanation of how to go about rehoming a tortoise can be found (if you haven’t already done so):-

http://www.tortoise-protection-group.org.uk/site/applying_to_rehome_a_tortoise_188.asp

If you are new to keeping tortoises, care sheets for each species and photos of suitable set-ups can be found by navigating through the menu on the left hand side of our website.

Many Thanks Again for taking the time to contact us and we hope to hear from you shortly:-)

Kindest Regards
Darren
