My horsfield his 15 months old and i have him for 5 months.
I was told not to hibernate him for the first year you have him and some others say not to hibernate for the first 4 years.
Should i just wait and see if he wants to hibernate and let him??????

Hello,
Hibernation is a natural process for Horsfield's. As yours is 15 months old, this will be it's 2nd, not 1st winter. I would give it 2 -3 months, starting mid-December.
I assume that you have kept weight records, as I recall that you were seeking advice on the Forum, before you purchased it.
Just click on "The Tortoise" box & you will find all the information you need.
Regards
Tom
