tortoise mating

i have a 2 kg male tortoise two times bigger than my female tortoise, he is too amourous and makes love in the first min, but i seprate them coz i dont want my little female get hurt.. should i let them mate or not???

Hi,  I would separate them, if he's pestering her all the time she may very well get stressed and some types of tortoise have a "boney" point on the end of the tail which can cause damage to the female when mating. 

It is entirely your choice of course, if you are hoping to breed for instance you may want them together for a while and then separate.  This is why most keepers have 2-3 females to every male so he can share the love and not focus on one female.

Yes quite right - separate. If you want more advice, can you post pics of them & details of how they are kept.
