T.G. Ibera or Graeca
Posted: 17/04/2013 by chunkdoobiest

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to confirm the following 3 torts are all Ibera's, if anyone can help?

Also can anyone offer any advice on this little ones scutes. She seems to have additional ones, and one of the back ones is split in 2 halves from the look of it. She's CB11 so still very small and I'm guessing female at this stage.

Thanks

Matt

Hello,
The extra scutes are abnormal, but not a problem. It's best not used for breeding (when adult)
The latter & the 1 to the R of it, look like T. ibera. Need close ups of the 1 on left. I take it that it has spurs. By the way graeca come from Morocco. Testudo ibera ( Pallas 1814 ) come from a different continent - Europe.
Look forward to the pics.
Regards
Tom

Hi Tom,
Sorry for the late post I didn't get chance to post the pic's yesterday. I've taken fresh pictures of all 3, but here are the pic's of the one that was top L of the originals.
I don't intend to breed her, I was just interested if anyone could tell me why she has the additional scutes.
