moving UK to italy, want to bring tort
Posted: 22/03/2013 by bouchtown

I have a horesfield tortoise. I've had her for about 8-9 years but have no documents. He was passed on from a friend.

I am now moving to italy, anyone know if I can bring him? and how to go about it? do I need any documents or vets note? if she needs quarentine Im not sure I would do it...

I plan to fly there, but can drive back and pick her up by car if neccesary..
Thanks,
Philip

Hi Philip,

I guessing as we and Italy are in the EU and Horsfields don't require licenses that there should be a problem. Before you do so, I would be inclined to give Animal Health a ring:-

I would try these contact details initially:-

Telephone: 0845 6014523 (local rate)
Email: wildlife@naturalengland.org.uk

Please do let us know how you get on

Kindest Regards
Darren
