Insurance

Hello all!
My little hermmans tortoise is only 3 and already has cost £50 + in vets bills - just general health questions - and i am aware of just how expensive it could be if she got really sick.
What is the general opinion out there about insuring tortoises against theft/death/illness etc and can anyone recommend a good company to insure with.
Many thanks
Alex and Ifutu

It really is a matter of personal preference.
To be honest out lot hardly ever have to go to the vets at all. I wouldn't really know who to recommend - but maybe someone else can come forward.
May I ask what was wrong with your tortoise please?
Kindest Regards
Darren

hi darren,
She's been twice, once for pink on the underside of her shell (which was bruising from playing on the stones in the garden) and then she woke herself up early during hibernation so we took her for a check up to make sure she was ok and took some advice about bringing her out of it and after - hybernation care etc... nothing wrong - just precautions! Feeling much more prepared now...

Hi

I have an insurance for both of mine with exotic direct, it is a really good rate and lots of peace of mind if they did get sick. As you say it would cost alot of money if they were unwell, and that would just be on blood tests and X-rays, which are normally always needed, so they can see what's going on.
