How do we take her out of hibernation
Posted: 10/02/2013 by Ted209

Hi folks,

This winter has been strange to say the least! One week its freezing, this week it's been very mild and now their forecasting snow! Shelly (our hermann)is in a polystyrene box with hay and has been hibernating since the end of October time.

Over the past few years she has been coming out the beginning to middle march (this is our first hibernation). When should we move her box out of the garage back into the garden?

Thanks

Fred

There's still quite a bot of colder weather forecast throughout the UK. It isn't warm enough yet to move her back outside.
How is her weight doing?

Hi Darren - her weights doing really well, we weighed her the other day on a cold day as not to disturb her too much :)

she usually comes out during mid March when it warms up a bit - looking forward to see her again out in the garden

That's really good. Just gotta keep our fingers crossed for a nice early spring and a long hot Indian summer:-)
All the Best
Darren
