I have a two year old horsefield tortoise, which I was told he wouldnt hibernate til five, but recently he has stopped eating and sleeping all the time? is this normal?

Yes he is old enough to hibernate, as long as his weight is good and he has been well all year. They will slow right down and reduce eating naturally, what are the temps in your pen? was you thinking about hibernate him now? if so what method would you be doing?
