hi everyone

 I only got my tortiose a couple of days ago from a friend, he is happy and healthy but id like to know it is too late to hibernate him or should I hibernate him at all. im not too sure as ive been told to leave him for 6 weeks to settle in? what should i do?

Congratulations on being a tortoise owner, you will get so much pleasure from these gorgeous creatures. Can I ask how old is he? has he been hibernated before?
Sorry for questions but an understanding of the situation  helps before giving any advice
