Hiya,

Despite the length of the tail (quite long), I think this may be a female - though can't be 100% - have you more photos of the underside please?

Definite male:-)

Are they quite greedy as both are very large for two year olds:-)

Kindest Regards

Hiya,

Can't be 100% with the female - though very probable.
They're definitely a bit on the large side, so I'd look at cutting down on the volume of food they're given to slow their growth down a bit. In the wild it would take around 5+ years to attain this size, which is why they're not so smooth and their bone density may not be quite what it should be.

Have you noticed any strange behaviour from the male.....butting or anything at all?

hi we bought them in september and on the import paperwork it said they were 2 yrs old , we thought they looked a bit on the big side ,compared to the 1 yr olds we saw at another shop, the girl has put on 1 oz since we got them and the boy 4 ozs , and there hasnt been any butting from the male .

It's unusual to see imported tortoises that have obviously been kept captive for so long and so overfed:-( At east they have a good home now:-)
Best of Luck with them and please keep in contact:-)

To be honest we thought they looked about 5 years old, we only intended to buy one , but they were the only 2 left,in a vivarium, looking bored ,so we couldnt leave one behind, they are really friendly and seem content and settled now, thanks for your replys.will probably have more questions in the future no doubt  :)
