Hiya,

They are Spur-Thighed Tortoises from North Africa (Testudo Graeca), very possibly even whitei.
May I ask how large the female is please?

mmmmm, thats got me thinking now. This is Arthur, we inherited him on new years day, he had no name and the people we got him from had taken him on but were not really interested. They knew nothing about him either. We assumed he was a marginated but now not so sure. What do you think???

He looks very much like a Margie.

Have you a shot of his plastron please?

OK:-) - Margies have a very definite pattern on their plastron in the form of three pairs of triangles.

He is indeed, he is a star, he came to us on new years day with no name and some issues. He has had a fab summer out in the greenhouse/run and has finally realised that dandilions etc are much better than grated carrot, he knows his name and comes when called and he is sooooo sweet, he fast turned into my little baby. Next winter he should be back on track for hibernating. Good old Arthur!!!! Thanks for your help. We assumed he was a margi but then had a wobble. XX
