Hi All

Just hoping that some one can help!

On the 2nd October 2011 Linford my 7yr old hermans tortoise escaped from his run on our back garden.

He is about 7" long and was in good health.

My partner and i are just devstaed, i have searched the garden from top to bottom on my hands and knees but nothing.

He is an extreamly well loved member of our small family and his absence has left a massive hole.

I fear for him very much with the winter on its way.

If anyone knows anything plase give myself a call.

Many thank and heres hoping

Do not despair yet...there are people who have left torts to their own devices for hibernation for years. Of course be diligent in your searches, but do also remember that he may have found somewhere to dig deeply, quite easily. It is not an ideal situation, I agree, but do not give up. Is there anyone reading this who has ever had a tortoise hibernate outdoors, with success...or knows of one? Keep us posted, and good luck.

Regards, David in York.

Hi have you any vets nearby? one of mine escaped once and luckily enough someone handed her in at the local vets. Might help if you put your area on your post aswell as it does not say where abouts you are.

best of luck hope you find him
