Winding down advice
Posted: 09/09/2016 by George Norman

Hi

I am going to wind down my torts outside this Autumn. Because of the mild weather they are still eating really well and are active. They do have weeds in their enclosure but these are dying off now and I tend to go out and forage to supplement them.
If anyone else winds theirs down outside, can you please tell me when you stop feeding yours? I understand from other tortoise owners that they tend to stop eating themselves in the Autumn but mine are still going strong at the moment!
Thanks, any advice is much appreciated.

Hello,

It's temp. dependent & next week looks to be above average.

Outside is the best method. The temps will drop, they will be ready to hibe. mid to late Oct..
