My name is Helen and I am looking for advise on how to buy a tortoise and the best and safe sty way to do that.  I live in glasgow and dnt just want to pick anyone.  I would like advise on rescuing a tortoise or purchasing one the is about a year old .  I would be most grateful for any advice from your forum.

I suggest that you click on "Buying a Tortoise / ...." You are very unlikely to obtain a tortoise locally, but you have a very good Rail connection so try to link up with a breeder. Also click on the TPG Rehoming box.

Be sure to choose a hardy species.

You will need a greenhouse, for long periods of cold wet weather.
