Dog ate my baby torts
Posted: 31/05/2013 by missya

Ok I don't need any abuse over this as I am completely devastated. I am posting this as a reminder to everyone how easily this can happen. Our GSD has even around the torts for the last 12 months, they've been in their table and she's pottered about not paying any attention, all good, no worries. Until today when for some unknown reason she jumped up and took one at a time and ate both babies. I found her with the second one when it was half gone. I hoping the other will still turn up somewhere but I doubt it. I wouldn't want anyone to ever go through this it has been the worst day of my life and I cannot tell you how devastated I am. I'm not reading any responses doing anyone is tempted to be harsh or judgemental you really will be wasting your time. I just wanted to remind everyone that even a 'tortoise friendly' dog is not safe so please take every precaution.

Hello,
I'm very sorry to hear what has happened & sadly it's not uncommon. You could do nothing better, than to report it as a warning to others, a difficult thing for you to have done.
Best wishes,
Tom

I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your baby torts. It must be SO upsetting. Dogs can be unpredictable cant they? We think we know & trust them but they are animals I guess.
I have dogs, haven't got my torts yet but will always remember your terribly sad story & not take any chances.thankyou for posting & take good care.
