The TPG are going to the Houses of Parliament today to discuss the importation of tortoises.
We will also be raising the manner in which tortoises are kept in pet shops prior to sale (unsuitable vivariums), the appalling advice offered and the lack of guidance and legislation protecting the tortoises whilst under the care of pet shops.

Critically endangered hawksbill turtles are no longer being sold as tourist souvenirs in the Dominican Republic after a powerful government campaign cracked down on shops illegally trading such items.
