Our reference section will contain a list of books, journals and articles which will provide a useful source of information tortoise and turtle enthusiasts alike.

Most of the books listed are obtainable online from mail order companies or bookshops and normally to be found in the natural history, veterinary medicine, pets or herpetology sections.

Articles are either available for free download from the Internet or copies may be obtained through libraries, or directly from the publisher.

Journals usually require a subscription, but some journals will allow you to print copies of articles free on-line.

Only by widely reading a topic do you fully understand the subject area and are then able to make informed decisions/conclusions for yourself.  The Tortoise Protection Group encourage you to make full use of the bibliographies listed.
